Duće on Omiš Riviera, Croatia

Duće is a tourist destination in Croatia, which is administratively attached to the municipality of Dugi Rat. There are around 2000 permanent inhabitants, whose main activities are tourism and fishing. This small harbor is situated around four kilometers west of Omiš on the main road Split - Dubrovnik. In addition to the new part of Duće, which was built along the highway and where you can rent some apartments for vacation in Duće, there is an old part with 24 houses.



In the center of Duće, there is church of Our Lady of the Snow, which is celebrated every year in August 5th. On that day, residents go to the top of the hill named Stomorica. There is also another church of Our Lady of the Snow, which is named after the legend recounted by natives of the miracle of snowing in the middle of the summer. There are two more churches in this village – the church of Saint Anthony and the church of Saint Mark.

The whole architecture of old stone houses in this place is totally blended with beautifully preserved nature. With its picturesque, long sandy beach, Duće is a favorite holiday spot of many inhabitants of Split, but also of tourist from all around the world.
